AirCARE1 was asked to share a particularly challenging medical flight in the September Issue of the Air Ambulance Review, a publication in the International Travel & Health Insurance Journal (ITIJ). This case study showcases the phenomenal critical thinking skills the AirCARE1 medical team is meticulously trained to utilize on all air medical transports.
AirCARE1 was tasked to transport a patient, the only survivor of a fatal car crash, from Mexico to Montana to a medical facility close to home. Upon arrival, the team found the patient to be in extremely poor health and immediately altered the patient’s medication and care. They quickly determined the patient needed higher medical attention in the US and modified the flight path to a Level 1 trauma center closest to the US border. Without the team’s adaptability, smart thinking, and medical expertise in transporting critically ill patients this patient would have likely seen a fatal outcome.
In critical moments, a cookie-cutter approach to medical transport just doesn’t cut it. At AirCARE1 the team is taught to take command of every medical case during flights, even if it changes the course of the original plan. The team can adapt to every unique situation with expertise and precision. AirCARE1 is the leader in providing extraordinarily critical care in the air.
