Holistic Care in the Air

Taking an holistic approach to treating patients onboard air ambulance flights is a unique method we use here at AirCARE1 to reduce stress in patients during the flight. Denise Waye, president and owner of AirCARE1, explains in an article she wrote for AirMed&Rescue Magazine, the positive impact holistic care can have on patients.

As a critical care nurse and former music major, Denise integrated music into the medical environment of air transport after seeing how music and a holistic approach to patient care dramatically decreased the stress levels in her patients. AirCARE1 has been utilising holistic care for its patients to decrease the stressors of flight for the last 10 years and has seen dramatic results.

Denise Waye is the Founder and President of AirCARE1. Her career as a critical care registered nurse started in 1994 revealing her many years of experience in the field. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from the University of New Mexico and has worked in a variety of critical care patient settings including ICU, CCU, and the emergency department.
